Why is This Rock in My Way?

This painting is the first of the Surreal Self-Expression collection. 

I've often felt blocked in various aspects of my life, but I've always found ways to work around my obstacles. I have the "if there's a will, there's a way" mentality, and it has served me well—until this past year.

Following a transition period, I decided to push beyond my comfort zone, which led to my participation in my first group art show. This experience was transformative, offering me new insights into the art scene. However, as I contemplated re-entering the job market, I found myself envisioning a metaphorical rock blocking my path, hindering my usual solutions.

After much reflection and pushing myself to think differently, a thought came to me: "What if this path is a dead end?" This epiphany sparked the creation of this collection.
