During a fall foliage hike through Maple Pass in North Cascades, Washington, I felt like I had walked into a dream. The golden larches stood out brilliantly against the landscape, creating a surreal scene. When I came upon the lake, its mirror-like stillness and solid color amplified the dreamlike quality of the moment.
This painting aims to capture that otherworldly experience. I focused on the striking golden larches, the rugged mountains embracing them, and the eerily still lake. My goal was to convey the stark contrasts that made the scene so captivating, along with that dreamy, surreal feeling that washed over me as if I had stepped into another world.
Through this piece, I hope to transport viewers into this magical moment, sharing that awe-inspiring and peaceful encounter with nature that barely seemed real.
