Hiking Angels Landing was one of the most thrilling and nerve-wracking things I’ve ever done. The narrow path, the steep drop on both sides, the wind breezing through the canyon. It was both fun and more intense than I thought! My hands were sweating, my knees shook, and at a few points, I had to crouch down and touch the ground to steady myself.
I painted this moment because I wanted to share what hiking this trail felt like. I wanted this painting to feel immersive, with the chain reaching out, inviting you in. That rush of fear, excitement, and determination all at once. If you’ve ever faced something that made your heart race but kept going anyway, I think you’ll connect with this piece!
This is part of my “Pick Your Climb” mini collection. It’s about type 2 fun, the kind of fun challenge that pushes you, scares you a little, but in the end, is so worth it! Just like this climb!
