Diverging To The Same Pool

Burney Falls had been on my must-visit list for a while, and I’m so glad I finally got to experience it!

From the moment I arrived to when I reached the base of the falls, it felt like I’d stepped into a scene from a fantasy adventure movie. If Star Wars or Avatar had a planet with epic waterfalls, this would be it.

In this painting, I wanted to capture that sense of wonder and fantasy. The focal point is the massive central rock, splitting the waterfall into two cascading streams that create a mesmerizing reflection in the pool below, adding depth and brilliance to the scene. I also sought to convey the lush greenery, with water seeming to pour from hidden sources, emerging from a wall of moss, bushes, and trees. My goal was to capture the falls' enchanting beauty and the awe-inspiring sense of wonder I felt being there.
